Everything you might want to know about The Mailbox Drop, our editions, artists and what happens when something arrives in your mailbox.

1. About The Mailbox Drop

What is The Mailbox Drop?

The Mailbox Drop is a physical collection of creative work delivered through the mail.

Each edition brings together five independent artists around a theme. Inside, you'll discover letters, prints, postcards and other creative pieces designed to be opened, explored and kept.

Is The Mailbox Drop a subscription box?

No. Each Mailbox Drop edition is a standalone, limited-edition release that can be purchased individually.

Every new edition has its own theme, artists and collection of work. You decide which ones you want to collect.

What is a curated art mail experience?

It's a way of discovering artists and creative work through something physical.

Rather than searching for individual artists or pieces yourself, we bring together work from five artists and present it as one curated experience that arrives in your mailbox.

How does The Mailbox Drop work?

We begin with a theme, find artists whose work we think is worth discovering, and invite five of them to contribute to an edition.

Their individual pieces are brought together into a limited physical collection, assembled by The Mailbox Drop and shipped directly to collectors.

2. WHAT'S INSIDE

What does a Mailbox Drop edition include?

Each edition contains five individual artist envelopes — one from each participating artist.

Inside you'll find a mix of creative pieces that may include letters, art prints, postcards, photographs, illustrations, small printed pieces and other surprises.

The exact contents vary from artist to artist and edition to edition.

Will I know everything that's inside before I order?

Not necessarily.

We'll introduce the edition, its theme and participating artists, and we may preview some of the work along the way. But part of The Mailbox Drop experience is opening the collection and discovering what's actually inside.

Are the pieces made specifically for The Mailbox Drop?

Some work may be created specifically for an edition, while other pieces may be selected or adapted in collaboration with the artist.

Either way, each contribution is chosen as part of that particular Mailbox Drop experience.

Are the editions collectible?

Yes. Each edition is designed as a finite collection with its own theme, group of artists and creative work.

You can enjoy an individual edition on its own or build a collection across multiple Drops.

3. ARTISTS & DISCOVERY

Who are the artists?

We work with independent artists and creators across different disciplines, styles and places.

We're less interested in follower counts or popularity than whether someone's work makes us stop and look.

How do you discover artists?

Everywhere we can.

We discover artists at exhibitions and art fairs, through recommendations, while travelling, online, through other artists and sometimes completely by accident.

You can also explore artists we've discovered through our Discover section.

Can I recommend an artist?

Absolutely.

If you've found an independent artist whose work you think we should see, use our Recommend an Artist page. You don't need to know them personally.

I'm an artist. Can I submit my work?

Yes.

Use our Introduce Yourself page to tell us a little about yourself and show us where we can see your work.

Introducing yourself doesn't guarantee a feature or participation in a future edition. It simply puts your work on our radar.

How are participating artists paid?

Artists participating in our physical editions are paid directly by The Mailbox Drop for their agreed contribution.

They do not have to wait for an edition to sell before being compensated.

4. EDITIONS & AVAILABILITY

Are The Mailbox Drop editions limited?

Yes.

Each edition is produced in a limited quantity. Once an edition sells out, we don't simply reproduce the same collection.

Future Drops bring new themes, artists and discoveries.

How many copies of each edition are produced?

The quantity may vary by edition.

The available quantity will be shown on the individual edition page where appropriate.

Will sold-out editions come back?

Generally, no.

The point of each Mailbox Drop is that it represents a particular group of artists, theme and moment. Once that edition is gone, we move on to the next one.

How often are new editions released?

We're building The Mailbox Drop around regular new releases, but we'll announce the timing of each edition individually.

The best way to hear about upcoming Drops is to follow The Mailbox Drop or join our email list.

Where can I see the current edition?

Our first edition is The Mailbox Drop — Issue No. 01: The Discovery Edition. You can explore the edition, learn what we're creating and follow its progress on the edition page.

5. ORDERS & SHIPPING

Where does The Mailbox Drop ship?

We're beginning with shipping to the United States and Canada.

We hope to expand to additional international destinations as The Mailbox Drop grows.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping charges are shown during checkout based on your order and destination.

When will my order ship?

The expected shipping timeframe will be shown on the individual edition page.

Because our Drops are limited physical collections assembled specifically for each release, shipping timing may vary between editions.

How will my order be shipped?

Orders are packed and shipped from The Mailbox Drop in the United States.

Available shipping services and estimated delivery information will be shown during checkout where applicable.

Will I receive tracking?

Where tracking is available for the shipping service used, tracking information will be sent after your order has been dispatched.

What if my Mailbox Drop arrives damaged or something is missing?

Contact us as soon as possible and tell us what happened.

Because each edition is limited, replacement availability may depend on the remaining inventory for that edition, but we'll work with you to find the appropriate solution.

6. RETURNS, GIFTS & OTHER QUESTIONS

Can I cancel or change my order?

If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible.

Once an order has entered fulfillment or shipped, we may no longer be able to change it.

Can I return a Mailbox Drop?

Please refer to our Refund Policy for the current return and refund terms applicable to your order.

Because Mailbox Drops are limited-edition collections, we recommend reviewing the edition details carefully before ordering.

Is The Mailbox Drop available as a gift?

Yes. A Mailbox Drop can be sent to someone else by entering the recipient's shipping address when you order.

We may introduce additional gifting options as the company grows.

Do you offer subscriptions?

Not currently.

For now, every edition can be purchased individually. We may introduce an optional way for collectors to automatically receive future editions later, but you won't need a subscription to collect The Mailbox Drop.

How can I contact The Mailbox Drop?

Use our Contact page and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
