The Mailbox Has Retained Legal Counsel

We have received a letter.

Not the original complaint, which remains missing.

A different letter.

This one arrived in an envelope marked PRIVATE & CONFIDENTIAL, addressed to The Mailbox Drop, and apparently written on behalf of the mailbox.

The mailbox has retained legal counsel.

We were unaware that mailboxes could retain legal counsel.

We were also unaware that ours had sufficient disposable income to do so.

The letter alleges that we have created an unreasonable working environment, failed to acknowledge the mailbox's contributions, and repeatedly referred to it as "a box."

We maintain that this is an accurate description.

We have been advised to refrain from making further public statements.

Unfortunately, this is a public statement.

We have requested clarification regarding the mailbox's employment status, contractual obligations, and whether it intends to continue accepting deliveries.

No response has been received.

The mailbox remains outside.

It has declined to comment.
